Buena Vista-Bethel Water Supply Corporation started in 1964. Buena Vista-Bethel name derived from two small rural communties of Buena Vista on the north end of the system, and Bethel community on the south end of the system. In 1965 construction began on drilling a well and building a pump station to serve the 75 orginal members. By July 1966 the system had been completed and water was being pumped to the members residence.
In 1992 the Buena Vista-Bethel Water Supply Corporation converted over to a Special Utility District which is now Buena Vista-Bethel Special Utility District.
Today the District has five deep wells and pump stations in the Trinity Sands Aquifer and an additional pump station for emergency tie-in with the City of Waxahachie.
Currently we serve appxorimatly 2,100 connections throughout the service area.
